Study Visits in Hotels Good Practices in Cyprus, 2-3 November 2020

The Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB) successfully organized study visits to four hotels in Cyprus on November 2nd and 3rd. The hotels selected for the study visits are Napa Mermaid Hotels & Suites, Faros Hotel in Ayia Napa, Amavi Hotel and Aliathon Resort, in Paphos.

This action is part of the project Hotels4Climate which is funded by the European Climate Initiative (EUKI) of the German Government and is implemented by a consortium consisting of the Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB), the Institute of Greek Tourism Confederation (INSETE) and adelphi from Germany.

Representatives from the Cyprus and Greek Hotel Industry as well as from the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism participated in the Study Visits. During the Study Visits, good practices for reducing greenhouse gas emissions were presented by the selected hotels’ Chief Engineers. Finally, representatives of OEB, INSETE and adelphi presented some of the main results of the project regarding the characteristics of the hotel industry in each participating country, the suitable GHG emission reduction measures for hotels and the potential green restart measures that can be taken from the hotel industry after the COVID-19 pandemic.
