The Ministry of the Interior has put to public consultation draft legislative regulations concerning the establishment of the institution of Building Inspectors.
The proposed regulations provide for the carrying out of on-site building inspections at specified stages of the buildings under construction, with the aim of ensuring the compliance of the projects with the issued urban planning permits, building permits and the applicable legislative provisions. The inspections will be carried out on behalf of the competent Authority by private designers who will be registered in the Register of Building Inspectors, which will be kept by ETEK.

The public consultation closes on 7 July 2026.
