The Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) informs you that the Department of Road Transport has submitted for public consultation the draft of the Motor Vehicles and Traffic (Amendment) Regulations of 2026.
The proposed amendment provides for an increase in the maximum allowable height of vehicles from 4 meters to 4.5 meters.
It is noted that, with the Motor Vehicles and Traffic (Amendment) Regulations of 2025, which entered into force on November 14, 2025, the maximum height of vehicles and combinations of vehicles carrying one or more containers had already been set at 4.5 meters. With the proposed amendment, this regulation is extended to all vehicles.
