The Employers’ Group of the European & Economic Committee (EESC) under its President Ms. Sandra Parthie and consisting of about 70 people from all EU countries, is carrying out a working visit to Cyprus on 7 & 8 May.
In the context of this visit, a high-level discussion on “Autonomy through Competitiveness” was held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the offices of the CCCI.
The discussion was attended by the Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Mr. Michalis Damianos, the President of the Economy & Competitiveness Council, Mr. Demetris Georgiades, the Chairman of the Cyprus Fiscal Council, Mr. Michalis Persianis, the former IMF representative in Cyprus, Ms. Maria Heracleous, and the Professor of the Aristotle University, Mr. Nikos Varsakelis.
The event was introduced by the former President of the CCCI, Mr. Manthos Mavrommatis, and the General Manager of OEB, Mr. Michalis Antoniou, who represent Cypriot entrepreneurs in the EESC.
