The Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB) informs about the launch of a public consultation on the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence (AI), prepared by the National AI Taskforce, which was established by a Decision of the Council of Ministers (No. decision 97.538, date. 22/1/2025), chaired by the Chief Scientist for Research, Innovation and Technology, and with eleven (11) members from the public and private sectors, the academic and research community.
The Strategy is the integrated national policy framework of the Republic of Cyprus for the exploitation of the potential of AI, with a vision, by 2032, for Cyprus to be recognized as the trusted AI hub in the Eastern Mediterranean, as a reliable European jurisdiction for the provision of services that leverage AI and as a bridge between the European Union and neighboring regions.
The public consultation was launched on 21 July 2026 through the government’s ‘e-Consultation’ platform. The draft of the National Strategy for AI is posted at the following link:
