ΟΕΒ participates at the European Commission’s Advisory Committee on Vocational Training

The Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) participates at the European Commission’s meeting of the Advisory Committee on Vocational Training (ACVT) which took place on 20 and 21 April, 2017 in Brussels.

The ACVT assists the European Commission in implementing a Community vocational training policy at a strategic level.

The agenda of the ACVT plenary meeting included among other items:

  • The New Skills Agenda for Europe
  • Update on the European Alliance for Apprenticeships and follow up to the ACVT opinion ‘A shared vision for quality and effective apprenticeships and work-based learning’
  • Looking ahead to the future of VET

At the meeting, Cyprus was represented by Mrs Maria Stylianou Theodorou, Head of the Research and European Programs Service of OEB as the Cyprus employers’ representative and by Mr. Andreas Eleftheriou on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Cyprus Republic.
