Regarding the above issue, the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) informs its member companies about the issuance of a revised Decree by the competent Minister of Labor & Social Insurance regarding the Employment of Foreign Students from Third Countries and which was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic today, 06 March 2026.
The Decree defines the sectors of economic activity and professions in which the employment of third-country nationals who are in the Republic as students is allowed, provided that they have completed their first academic semester of study and have enrolled in the second academic semester.
For the employment of students, it is required, among other things:
- Certificate of full-time study and program of study from a recognized institution.
- Monthly work schedule from the employer.
- Copy of residence permit in the Republic.
- An employment contract with a specific employer, certified by the Department of Labour, stating the basic terms of employment.
