Based on the data kept at the District Labour Offices, the number of registered unemployed at the end of June 2025 amounted to 9,153 people. Based on seasonally adjusted data, which reflect the trend of unemployment, the number of registered unemployed in June 2025 increased to 9,833 people, compared to 9,780 in the previous month (Table 1).
Compared to June 2024, a decrease of 959 people or 9.5% was recorded. This decrease is mainly attributable to the sectors of education, financial and insurance activities, construction, manufacturing, as well as the decline in new entrants to the labour market (Table 2).

Methodological Information
Registered Unemployed
The number of registered unemployed refers to persons over 15 years of age who apply to the District and Local Employment Offices of the Department of Labour to find a job and are registered as unemployed. These individuals must be able and available for work and actively seeking work. The monthly number of registered unemployed refers to people who, on the last day of each month, have an active application to find a job.
The number of registered unemployed does not include the self-employed, people looking for part-time work, as well as people looking for work in a specific area or with a specific employer.
Seasonally Corrected Data
Seasonal Correction is a statistical technique that removes the effect of seasonality from a chronological order, thereby making the actual trend in the change of a magnitude more visible. For the implementation of the seasonal correction, the Statistical Office uses the JDemetra+ 2.2.2 software, which has been developed by Eurostat. The production of the custom time series is done with the TRAMOSEATS algorithm. It should be noted that due to the seasonal correction, the entire chronological order of the monthly estimates is recalculated each time the data of a new month are added. This recalculation often leads to revisions of estimates for previous months. In March 2020, the model applied was readjusted.
Methodological Changes
According to an update from the Department of Labor, as of Tuesday, June 15, 2021, the automatic renewal of registrations was terminated and the online platform of the Public Employment Service was activated, to allow the registration of a new application for finding a job, its renewal, as well as the registration of a vacant position. That arrangement may affect the comparison of the monthly unemployment figures recorded through this procedure with the data recorded by the previous procedures.
Classification System
The registered unemployed by economic activity are published on the basis of the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the Community of Anath. 2 (NACE Rev. 2).
