The Labour Inspection Department (TEE) of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, the competent authority for occupational safety and health issues, informs through the Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB) Employers and businesses operating in the Construction Sector that it has issued a new Guide on Construction Safety and Health issues.
It should be noted that the Guide is a translation into Greek of the publication of the BAUSTEIN Guide, by the German Institute for Compulsory Insurance and Accident Prevention in the Construction Sector “Berufsgenossenschaft der Bauwirtschaft (BG BAU)”, with the permission of BG BAU for exclusive use in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus and in it references are made to the relevant provisions of the Cypriot Legislation.
The Guide aims to inform all those involved in the Construction Sector and to provide practical solutions for the prevention of risks and the avoidance of accidents at work, occupational diseases and dangerous incidents.
It is also noted that the Guide is designed in such a way that, in simple words and images, one can identify the risks and take the appropriate preventive and protective measures required for each task and activity.
OEB calls on companies in the Construction Sector to make appropriate use of this useful Guide for the further improvement of safety and health levels and at the same time the reduction of occupational accidents, occupational diseases and dangerous incidents.
