Please be informed that the Department of Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment is conducting a public consultation on the Revised National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change, which will last until March 18, 2025.
Adaptation to climate change is a key priority for Cyprus, as our country is located in one of the most vulnerable regions of the Mediterranean. The National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change is being revised in order to respond to new scientific knowledge, European and international commitments, as well as to the modern needs and challenges faced by local communities and the country’s economy.
This strategy sets the framework for the adaptation of the following sectors most affected by climate change:
- Georgia
- Biodiversity and Ecosystems
- Cultural heritage
- Disaster Risk Management, Civil Protection and Critical Infrastructure
- Economy, Industry and Finance
- Education
- Energy
- Fisheries and Aquaculture
- Forestry
- Governance
- Health
- Hydrological Status and Water Management
- Infrastructure, Transport and Buildings
- Marine and Coastal Areas
- Territory
- Spatial Planning
- Tourism
