THE PRESIDENT OF OEB, GIORGOS PANTELIDIS, AT A WORKING MEETING OF ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS BUSINESSEUROPE WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION URSULA von der LEYEN
In his capacity as Vice-President of Europe’s largest business organisation – the Pan-European Federation of Employers and Industry “BusinessEurope” – the President of the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), Mr. George Pantelides, participated on Friday, June 6, 2025 in the evening, in a working meeting of the leadership of BusinessEurope with the President of the European Commission, Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen.
Given the community of risks and challenges, the coordination of the strategic aspirations and actions of Europe’s political and business leadership is more imperative than ever before.
In an atmosphere of excellent cooperation and with a full understanding of the importance of high speed in decision-making and their implementation, the challenges arising from the conditions of global uncertainty and the plans to address the situation and strengthen the competitiveness of European companies were discussed during the meeting:
- Creation or strengthening of the EU’s cooperation network with third partners;
- Upgrading innovation,
- Reduction of energy costs,
- Removal of development barriers/simplification of procedures;
- Production of specialized human resources.
OEB will be at the heart of the fermentation, planning and decisions for the present and the future of the European economy at the highest level, throughout 2025 and 2026 while promoting the interests of Cyprus and Cypriot businesses.
