OEB: Establishment of an Education, Training and Talent Attraction Committee

The Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) has established a Committee for Education, Training and Attraction of Young Talent, as part of its strategy to enhance the skills of human resources and support the competitiveness of Cypriot businesses.

The Commission is composed of representatives of businesses and organisations from key sectors of the economy and has the mission of contributing to the development of modern policies and practices for education, training and the attraction of young talent that meet the needs of the labour market and European developments in the field of skills.

The first meeting of the Committee was held recently, chaired by Mr. Yiangos Hatzigiannis. During the session, the main lines of action of the Commission were presented, which include, among others:

  • the promotion of education and training as a key pillar of business competitiveness,
  • enhancing the attractiveness of vocational education and training;
  • promoting lifelong learning and continuous upskilling;
  • strengthening the interconnection between businesses and educational institutions;
  • the development of initiatives to attract and retain new talent in the Cypriot labour market.

OEB reaffirms its commitment as a strategic partner in formulating policies that enhance the country’s human capital, contributing to the formation of a competitive and sustainable production model for Cyprus.
