The Cyprus Association of Survey and Market Research Enterprises (SEDEAK), a member of the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), in cooperation with the ESOMAR Representation in Cyprus, wishes to inform the Media and its members about the following serious incident:
On 27 June 2025, a survey of a company that falsely claims to be a member of ESOMAR and that it complies with the organisation’s ethical and quality standards was published on an online medium and reproduced in the press. ESOMAR has officially confirmed that this company and its executives are not its members.
In addition, the identity of the survey does not comply with the guidelines for the disclosure of results established by ESOMAR. It is recalled that any reference or interpretation of the results beyond the findings of the survey must be clearly attributed as a personal opinion and not as part of the poll.
We call on the media and the public to exercise caution and check the validity of each poll, in order to defend objective and reliable information.
