The Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) informs its Members that on 15 October 2025 a meeting of the Market Access Advisory Committee (MAAC) will be held, during which the European Commission will examine the market access situation for Malaysia and Vietnam.
The debate will focus on the trade barriers faced by European Union companies and producers in these two markets.
As part of the process, Member States are invited to submit their views through an online survey, recording barriers affecting local businesses and industries.
The Trade Service – Trade Policy and Bilateral Relations Branch calls on businesses to:
-
Study the attached lists of trade barriers concerning the markets of Malaysia and Vietnam (in PDF format).
-
Send by Friday, October 11, 2025 (end of the day), any information or observations regarding obstacles that continue to cause concern or affect their export activity.
The views and information gathered will be used to shape the national positions of Cyprus during the MAAC session. Optionally, businesses can briefly indicate how they are affected by these barriers.
Important clarifications:
-
Businesses do not need to submit the survey directly to the European Commission. The submission will be made in aggregate by the Trade Department.
-
For each barrier , a link with a detailed description is provided in the attached files.
-
For additional information or clarifications, those interested can contact directly the Trade Service (Ms. Elena Pikoula, tel. 22867232).
Responses can be sent electronically to the following addresses:

OEB encourages the participation of businesses in this process, as the timely and documented submission of information can contribute substantially to the removal of obstacles and the improvement of the access of Cypriot products and services to international markets.
