Private hospitals, which are a key pillar of the health system, claim from the State, the Ministry of Health, the Health Insurance Organization and the House of Representatives, what they are really entitled to, i.e. equal treatment and their participation through consultation and consensus in solving the many challenges they face. This was the central message of the annual General Assembly of the Pancyprian Association of Private Hospitals – PASIN (Member of OEB), which took place on 3 April 2025.
During his report, the outgoing President, Dr. Marios Karaiskakis, referred to the actions of PASIN over the last two years as well as the problems faced by both the health sector and private hospitals, such as the lack of nursing staff, the legislation on the operation of hospitals, the need to upgrade the services provided within the framework of the GHS, as well as other developments that are under formation or are expected to arise in the coming period.
