The Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) is very proud to announce that the Cyprus OEB Innovation Awards Competition for 2025 has been approved for inclusion in the programme of events of the European Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Week (SME Week) of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
The inclusion of the OEB Innovation Awards in the “SME Week” events is yet another recognition at European level of OEB’s long-standing contribution to the promotion of Innovation and business excellence and reaffirms OEB’s role and mission as an institutional body representing businesses in Cyprus and internationally.
The European SME Week is a year-long pan-European campaign that aims to promote entrepreneurship and create a business-friendly environment to enhance their competitiveness, of which Innovation is an integral part. The SME Week campaign is coordinated by the European Commission and includes various events throughout the year, under the slogan “Promoting Business. Every week. Everywhere.”
The Innovation Awards Competition is an emblematic initiative of OEB that has been organized every year since 2006 with the aim of rewarding companies/organizations that have innovated by successfully implementing their idea in practice, either with new innovative products, services, or with innovative processes, methods with substantial improvement compared to what existed before.
The OEB Innovation Awards have become an institution and are considered the highest distinction for Innovation in Cyprus while they have been recognized by the European Commission as Good Practice and receive the full support of the State with a relevant decision of the Council of Ministers through the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation & Digital Policy and the Foundation for Research and Innovation (RIF).
The 2025 Innovation Awards competition will be announced by OEB in the coming period and will culminate with the holding of the award ceremony of the winners within the first half of 2026, during the period of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.
