The Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) announces the launch of the application period for the 2025 Cyprus Innovation Award, the annual institution that highlights and rewards innovative ideas that have been successfully implemented in practice. The deadline for submitting applications is 31 October 2025.
The Innovation Award competition is a flagship initiative of OEB, held annually since 2006, and is regarded as the highest distinction for business innovation in Cyprus. Over the years, the competition has honoured the achievements of dozens of companies and organisations that have proven Cyprus to be a source of inspiration, creativity, and applied innovation.
Eligibility and Categories
Eligible to participate in the competition are:
- Private sector businesses/organisations operating in Cyprus that have implemented an innovation and can demonstrate its successful application.
- The innovation submitted must have been successfully applied within the last three years.
- The application must concern an innovation that falls under one of the following categories:
- Primary Sector
- Manufacturing Sector
- Services Sector
- Social Innovation
Highest Distinction
The OEB Innovation Award has been recognised by the European Commission as a best practice, and enjoys the full support of the Republic of Cyprus, following a decision by the Council of Ministers through the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy and the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF).
This year’s competition has been included in the programme of events for the European SME Week, organised by the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission — a further European-level recognition of OEB’s longstanding contribution to the promotion of innovation and business excellence.

Award Ceremony
The Innovation Award competition will culminate in an award ceremony for the winners, which will be held jointly with the Research Awards of the RIF, during the first quarter of 2026, within the period of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU. As in previous years, the President of the Republic of Cyprus will be invited to present the awards to the winners.
