The Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) informs you that the Department of Taxation is conducting a survey, through a questionnaire, in the context of the preparation of Cyprus for the implementation of the “VAT in the Digital Age” (ViDA) package.
The ViDA package introduces significant changes to the European VAT framework, with a particular focus on eInvoicing and Digital Reporting Requirements (DRR).
From 1 July 2030, the new requirements for electronic invoicing and digital data reporting will apply to cross-border business-to-business (B2B) transactions within the European Union. The changes may require adjustments to businesses’ accounting systems, ERP systems, invoicing software, and related business processes.
The purpose of the survey is to record the current situation and, among other things, to collect information on:
- the volume and frequency of intra-Community transactions and invoices;
- how invoices are issued, received and processed;
- systems and software used by businesses;
- the degree of readiness for structured electronic invoicing and digital data reporting;
- the technical, operational and administrative challenges that are expected to arise, and
- the forms of guidance and support that could facilitate the transition.
The questionnaire is available in Greek and English and can be completed until October 5, 2026 at the following link:
Intra-Community Transactions: Electronic Invoicing and Digital Reporting – Questionnaire Completion
It is noted that, in cases where accurate data are not readily available, it is acceptable to submit reasonable estimates.
The results of the survey will be used by the Tax Department to identify the needs of businesses and plan the necessary actions for the smooth implementation of the new requirements in Cyprus.
Your participation in the survey is important.
