The Electoral General Assembly of the Pancyprian Association of Private Higher Education Institutions (PASISTE), a member of the Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), was held on June 25, 2026.
During the Assembly, the outgoing President of the Association, Dr. Marios Americanos, presented the report of the work of the Board of Directors, highlighting the significant developments achieved for the benefit of the industry. Among other things, reference was made to the improvements in the procedures for attracting students from third countries, the increase of the maximum admission rate of new students from third countries to 20% of the capacity of each college, the abolition of the restrictive admission date, as well as the expansion of the sectors of economic activity and professions in which students from third countries can be employed.
At the same time, information was provided on the possibility of offering courses of the study programs during the Summer Course Period of 2026, a development that further enhances the flexibility and competitiveness of private higher education institutions.
In the context of the Assembly, elections were held for the new Board of Directors of PASISTE, which was formed as follows:
- President: Dr. Marios Americanos – Americanos College
- Vice President: Lakis Papakyriakou – CTL Eurocollege
- Secretary: Loizos Michael – Mediterranean College
- Treasurer: Michalis Aresti – Atlantis College
- Member: George Kritikos – Global College
- Member: Savvas Adamidis – College of Tourism
The new Board of Directors reaffirmed its commitment to continue the close cooperation with OEB and the relevant state bodies, with the aim of further upgrading private higher education in Cyprus, strengthening the international competitiveness of the sector and promoting policies that will contribute to attracting students from abroad.
