The Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, Mr. Marinos Moushiouttas, attended a regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), which took place on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
During the meeting, the Minister briefed on the promoted pension reform and exchanged views with the Members of the Board of Directors on individual aspects of the Pension System.
The President of OEB, Mr. George Pantelides, reiterated that strengthening pensions and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the system is an issue of paramount importance for the business world, as it affects society, the economy and the well-being of current and future generations.
In addition, OEB stressed that participation in Provident Funds cannot be mandatory and the voluntary nature should be maintained. The State must provide substantial and strong incentives, both to employers and employees, in order to encourage participation in the second pillar.
The President of OEB underlined that the employer world is ready to continue to actively and constructively participate in the dialogue, with the aim of achieving a fair, sustainable and balanced pension system for our country.
