Communiqué of SYKAK – Participation of SYKAK – Member of OEB in the 10th Panhellenic Congress of POVAS and Signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation

The Association of Aluminium Manufacturers of Cyprus (SYKAK) – Member of OEB participated with great success in the 10th Panhellenic Conference of the Panhellenic Federation of Aluminium and Iron Craftsmen (POVAS), which took place in Ioannina, Greece, with the participation of a delegation of 25 people from Cyprus.

The Conference was one of the most important industry events for 2026, bringing together hundreds of professionals, industries, architects and engineers from Greece and abroad, confirming the industry’s decisive role in the development of the building and construction industry.

The participation of SYAK in the Conference was an important opportunity for the exchange of views and experiences with professionals and representatives of the industry from Greece, as well as for information on the current developments, challenges and prospects of the aluminum and iron industry. The work of the Conference focused, among other things, on architectural trends and steel structures, developments and challenges in the industry, sustainability and energy saving, innovation, as well as the importance of technical education and the provision of modern tools to professionals in the field.

During the Conference, important contacts and meetings took place between the two Organizations, in a particularly warm and collegial atmosphere, confirming the strong ties of cooperation that are developing between SYKAK and POVAS.

An important milestone of the mission was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between SYKAK and POVA, through which the two Organizations express in practice their will for closer cooperation, exchange of know-how, joint actions and coordination on issues of common interest concerning the sector. The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with the support and participation of the Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB) and the General Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen and Merchants of Greece (GSEVEE), further strengthening the institutional character of the cooperation between the two sides.

SYKAK expresses its warm thanks to POVAS for the invitation, the hospitality and the impeccable organization of the Conference, which was characterized by a high level of presentations and substantial dialogue on the future of the sector.

The Association remains committed to strengthening collaborations with similar professional bodies in Greece and abroad and will continue to actively work to promote and safeguard the well-meaning interests of the industry.
