Public Consultation on amending bills in the context of harmonization with Directive (EU) 2023/2225 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 October 2023 on credit agreements for consumers and repealing Directive 2008/48/EC

 

The Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB) informs you that the Consumer Protection Service of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry is putting to public electronic consultation as of April 29, 2026, a package of amending bills, in the context of harmonization with Directive (EU) 2023/2225 of the European Parliament and of the Council (dated 18.10.2023), on credit agreements for consumers and repealing Directive 2008/48/EC.

This package of amending bills complements the transposition of Directive (EU) 2023/2225 into national law, following the public consultation conducted on the bill “The Consumer Credit Agreements Law of 2025”, which was put to online public consultation on 12 August 2025 and remained open for comments until 15 September 2025.

The package concerns the following amending bills:

  • The Consumer Credit Agreements in Relation to Residential Property (Amendment) (No. 2) Law of 2026.
  • The Operations of Credit Institutions (Amendment) (No. 2) Law of 2026.
  • The Leasing (Amendment) Law of 2026.
