A meeting was recently held between the Limassol-Paphos OEB Committee under its chairman, Mr. Christos Michaelides, and the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Yiannis Armeftis, in the context of strengthening the dialogue and substantial cooperation between the Municipality and the city’s business community. The meeting was also attended by the President and the General Manager of the Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB), Mr. George Pantelidis and Mr. Michalis Antoniou, respectively.
During the meeting, Mr. Armeftis presented in detail the strategic Planning of the Limassol Municipality for the period 2025-2035, which includes a wide range of development interventions aimed at sustainable urban development, improving the quality of life of citizens and enhancing the competitiveness of Limassol as a business and investment destination. The Mayor underlined the decisive role of private initiative and entrepreneurship in the successful implementation of the above goals, pointing out that investments from the private sector are a key axis of development. He stressed, at the same time, the importance of strengthening synergies between the public and private sectors, as well as creating a stable and business-friendly environment.
Mr. Armeftis stated that, in the context of the implementation of the Planning, specialized Committees have already been established, including the Development Committee and the Climate Change Committee, with the aim of better coordination and more effective promotion of individual actions. In this context, the participation of OEB representatives in these Committees is promoted, recognizing the value of the contribution of the organized business community.
On behalf of OEB, both the President of the Federation and the Chairman of the Limassol-Paphos Committee, thanked the Mayor for the substantive meeting, confirming OEB’s intention to participate in these Committees and thus actively contribute to the consultation processes and the formulation of policies that affect business activity.
At the same time, they underlined the importance of institutionalized and regular communication between the Municipality and OEB.
The meeting took place in a very positive atmosphere, confirming the common will to further strengthen cooperation for mutual benefit.
