The Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB, the Pancyprian Union of Pharmaceutical Industries (PAEF) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, signed on April 6, 2026 a Memorandum of Cooperation to promote joint actions in the fields of humanitarian aid and development cooperation.
The Memorandum sets an organized framework for cooperation between the public and private sectors, utilizing the diplomatic scope of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the institutional representation of the business community by OEB and the specialized know-how of the pharmaceutical industry through PAEF.
Through this cooperation, the provision of humanitarian aid in pharmaceutical products to countries facing increased needs due to natural disasters or other crises is promoted, as well as the transfer of know-how and good practices in pharmaceutical policy and public health issues.
At the same time, the Memorandum strengthens the extroversion of the Cypriot pharmaceutical industry, highlighting its potential at an international level and facilitating its participation in humanitarian and development programs and initiatives.
This initiative is part of the broader context of promoting the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, with an emphasis on health, innovation and international partnerships. The implementation of the Memorandum will be based on the coordination of the Parties and the utilization of available resources and tools, with the aim of implementing substantial and measurable interventions.
OEB, as the largest Employers’ Organization in the country, will continue to actively contribute to the strengthening of partnerships that combine entrepreneurship with social responsibility, promoting actions with international impact and added value for the Cypriot economy and society.
