The Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) informs you that according to recent announcements by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry and the EAC – Supply, new regulations apply from January 1, 2026 for self-consumption electricity contracts, which apply to new applications.
These regulations concern the updated framework governing the installation and connection of Renewable Energy Sources systems for own consumption (Offsetting of Accounts and Virtual Clearing of Accounts) and include changes to the terms, procedures and requirements applicable to new connections.

It is clarified that the above changes do not affect existing contracts, but exclusively concern applications submitted from January 1, 2026 onwards.
