The Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB) informs you that the Department of Labor Inspection (TEE), the competent authority for occupational safety and health issues, is implementing an online campaign, which will be addressed to all elevator owners regarding the obligations and measures required for the safe use of elevators.
In this context, videos and static graphics have been prepared which for the next 2 weeks will be shown on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
In addition, the video will be shown on RIK TV, in the context of Corporate Social Responsibility.
The announcement of the Technical Chamber of Greece and the relevant information material of the campaign are attached, pointing out the following:
- The control and maintenance of elevators are two different obligations.
- The inspection of the elevator is carried out only by an Authorized Elevator Auditor, who receives the approval of the Director of the TEE.
- The maintenance of the elevator is assigned only to Elevator Maintainers, who also receive the approval of the Director of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
- An active telephone connection with the Maintainer is very important, so that immediate help can be given in case of entrapment.
- Elevator extrications must be carried out by the Elevator Maintainers, who must respond immediately in case of receiving a call from a person trapped in an elevator and come to the affected elevator within a reasonable period of time not exceeding one hour, from the moment the call is answered.
- The identification of all prepaid SIM and/or eSIM cards used in elevators is mandatory and the holder identification process should be completed by November 10, 2025, while in cases of non-compliance, the services of these cards will be automatically deactivated without further notice.
