The Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) announces that the submission of applications for the 19th competition of the Cyprus Innovation Award will last until November 30, 2025.
Through the competition, OEB rewards the most successful Innovative business ideas and practices that have been successfully implemented in the following categories:
- Primary sector
- Processing
- Services
- Social Innovation
The Innovation Award competition is supported by the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, as well as the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF).
The Most Important Award for Innovation
The Innovation Award competition is an emblematic initiative of OEB that has been organized every year since 2006 with the aim of awarding companies/organizations that have innovated by successfully implementing their idea in practice with new innovative products, services, or with innovative processes and methods with substantial improvement compared to what already existed.
This year, particularly strong interest is expected from companies that want to stand out, enhance their competitiveness and be recognized as leaders in a field that is transforming the economy.
European Recognition
The OEB Innovation Award has been included in the programme of events of the European Week of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME Week) of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW). The inclusion of the competition in the events of “SME Week” is yet another recognition at European level of OEB’s long-standing contribution to the promotion of Innovation and reaffirms its role and mission as an institutional representative body of businesses.
Award Ceremony
The Leading Innovations will be awarded at a joint ceremony with the RIF Research Awards at an event to be held at the end of March 2026, to which the President of the Republic as well as EU institutional officials will be invited.
It is also noted that the institution of the Innovation Award is recognized at the highest level by the Cypriot state and for this reason, the Innovation Awards ceremony at the request of OEB has been placed under the auspices of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union and will be included in the official program of events of the Presidency.
The above reflects the effort to upgrade the Innovation Award and the visibility of the award-winning companies.
