Workshop with European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC), Wednesday 29/10/2025, at OEB Offices

On the occasion of the visit of a delegation of the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) to Cyprus, the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) is organizing an information day, with the aim of presenting CEFIC’s actions and informing Cypriot businesses about the current trends, challenges and opportunities of the sector at an international level.

 

The Workshop will take place in the presence of the Honorable Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Mr. George Papanastasiou, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 15:00 at the Offices of OEB (4 Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation Street), in Nicosia.

The European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) is the Pan-European Association of the Chemical Industry, representing more than 29,000 companies in the sector across Europe. It was founded in 1972 and is based in Brussels. CEFIC acts as the voice of the European chemical industry vis-à-vis the EU institutions (European Commission, Parliament, Council), promoting policies for sustainable development, innovation and competitiveness.

CEFIC members come from:

  • Chemical industry – producers of basic, specialty and industrial chemicals, agrochemicals and pharmacochemicals.
  • Plastics and materials – companies producing plastics, polymers, rubber and synthetic materials.
  • Energy and raw materials – suppliers of petrochemicals, natural gas, hydrogen and other raw materials.
  • Consumer products – producers of cosmetics, cleaners, food, medicines and packaging.
  • Construction and transportation – companies that produce chemicals for building materials, paints, automobiles, aeronautics and shipbuilding.
  • National and sectoral associations/ Associations – organisations representing individual sectors or EU countries.
