It is important, he clarified, to modernize and not to abolish the institutions, with the main aim of finding a targeted way to ensure the competitiveness of the economy.

The President of the OEB said that in a recent meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the need for coordination of the strategic aspirations and actions of Europe’s political and business leadership was highlighted. In particular, Mr. Pantelidis underlined that according to the EU, it is necessary to target the reduction of energy costs, fight bureaucracy and simplify procedures, continuous training of human resources, vertical support for businesses, resolution of the issue of tariffs imposed by the United States and the immediate finding of new strategic partners.

In relation to the large and timeless problem of finding human resources in specific sectors, Mr. Pantelidis said that although we are in a better position, there are still significant gaps, especially in the health sector, where there are major shortages in nursing staff, affecting the quality of the services provided.
