You are informed about the launch of the Public Consultation regarding the Bill entitled “The Law of 2025 on the Operation of the Waste Management Fund” (attached) which is carried out by the Department of Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment.
The legislative framework under consultation provides for the creation of a Waste Management Fund in order to ensure the effective use of the revenues resulting from the application of the Landfill tax and their utilization as compensatory measures in order to finance investments in facilities, equipment and services for the management of municipal solid waste in the context of the implementation of the “Pay As You Fly” program.
The consultation will run from 19 May to 17 June 2025. In this context, please send any suggestions, comments or comments by 10 June 2025 to mpapageorgiou@oeb.org.cy.
Alternatively, you can submit your comments directly via www.e-consultation.gov.cy website, or emailed to director@environment.moa.gov.cy and aadamou@environment.moa.gov.cy, by 17 June 2025. For comments via email it should be registered as the title “Public Consultation on the Waste Management Fund”.
