Holding of the General Assembly of the Quality Association

On May 5, 2025, the Annual General Assembly of the Cyprus Quality Association (member of the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation – OEB) was held with great success, in the presence of the Honorable Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry, Mr. George Papanastasiou, the President of OEB, Mr. Antonis Antoniou, state officials and executives of businesses – members of the Association.

The Assembly highlighted the importance of quality as a key lever for enhancing competitiveness, innovation and sustainable development, in an ever-changing technological and geopolitical landscape.

Minister Papanastasiou reiterated the Ministry’s firm support for initiatives that promote operational excellence and a culture of quality, recognizing the essential role of the Association in the dissemination of best practices and its contribution to enhancing the competitiveness of businesses.

The President of OEB, Mr. Antoniou, described quality as a strategic investment with tangible results and called on businesses to incorporate practices of excellence in their operations, while declaring OEB’s readiness to support any relevant effort in the direction of enhancing innovation, productivity and extroversion.

The President of the Cyprus Quality Association, Mr. Andreas Ioannidis, expressed his gratitude to the members of the Ministry of Energy and OEB for their continuous support and underlined the need to transition to a modern development model based on sustainability, innovation and responsibility. He pointed out that quality is a fundamental value and an expression of social responsibility, beyond simple compliance with standards. He also stressed the importance of the systematic disclosure of non-financial data with measurable indicators, as a prerequisite for transparency and sustainable operation. In conclusion, he highlighted the substantial work and multidimensional actions of the Association in strengthening the culture of quality in Cyprus.

An important moment of the Assembly was the presentation of the KPMG Cyprus survey by Mr. Angelos Agathangelou of KPMG Cyprus who presented the findings of the survey on “The Cypriot Consumer & the Perception of Quality” highlighting the way in which the modern Cypriot consumer perceives quality, and how this perception shapes expectations. It influences purchasing behavior and determines the success of products and services in the Cypriot market.

The event closed with a constructive dialogue around the challenges and opportunities that the adoption of quality practices entails, with a common recognition that operational excellence arises through strategic planning, continuous training, collaboration and targeted investment in human resources.

The Cyprus Quality Association reaffirms its commitment to consistently and with a long-term vision to support Cypriot businesses on their path towards quality and sustainable development.

Elections were held in the statutory part of the Assembly, from which the new Board of Directors of the Cyprus Quality Association emerged. The Council shall be composed of the following members:
