Inflation in November 2025 decreased at a rate of 0.5%. (Table 1)  <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-90922\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gov.cy\/media\/2025\/12\/04122025_StatistikiPlithorismosEL.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gov.cy\/media\/2025\/12\/04122025_StatistikiPlithorismosEL.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.gov.cy\/media\/2025\/12\/04122025_StatistikiPlithorismosEL-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.gov.cy\/media\/2025\/12\/04122025_StatistikiPlithorismosEL-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.gov.cy\/media\/2025\/12\/04122025_StatistikiPlithorismosEL-384x256.jpg 384w\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\"><\/figure>\n<p>The largest positive change in economic categories compared to November 2024 was recorded in <em>Services<\/em> (3,1%), while the largest negative changes were observed in <em>Electricity<\/em> (-7,9%) and <em>Agricultural Products<\/em> (-6,2%). Compared to October 2025, the largest change was recorded in <em>Agricultural Products <\/em>(-7,6%). (Table 2)  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Analysis of Percentage Changes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Compared to November 2024, the largest changes were observed in the categories <em>Clothing and Footwear <\/em>(-7,6%), <em>Restaurants and Hotels <\/em>(5,0%), <em>Education<\/em> (3,3%) and<em> Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages <\/em>(-3,1%). (Table 1) <\/p>\n<p>Compared to October 2025, the largest changes were observed in the categories <em>Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages<\/em> (-3,2%) and <em>Clothing and Footwear <\/em>(0,9%). (Table 1) <\/p>\n<p>For the period January-November 2025, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the largest changes were recorded in the categories <em>Clothing and Footwear<\/em> (-6,4%), <em>Restaurants and Hotels <\/em>(4,7%), <em>Education<\/em> (3,7%) and<em> Recreation and Culture<\/em> (3,2%). (Table 1) <\/p>\n<p><strong>Unit Impact Analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The largest positive effect on the change of the CPI of November 2025 compared to November 2024 was had by <em>the categories Restaurants and Hotels <\/em>(0,54), <em>Education <\/em>(0,15) and <em>Recreation and Culture (0,14),<\/em> while the largest negative effect on the change of the CPI of November 2025 compared to November 2024 was had by the categories <em>Food and non-alcoholic beverages <\/em>(-0,74) and <em>Clothing and footwear<\/em> (-0,59). (Table 3) <\/p>\n<p>Food<em> and non-alcoholic beverages <\/em>had the largest impact on the change of CPI in November 2025 compared to October 2025 (-0,77). (Table 3) <\/p>\n<p>The largest positive impact on the change of the CPI of November 2025 compared to the index of November 2024 was had by <em>Catering Services <\/em>(0,53), while the largest negative impact was had by <em>Clothing<\/em> (-0,47) and <em>Electricity<\/em> (-0,45). (Table 4) <\/p>\n<p><em>Potatoes <\/em>(0.10) had the largest positive effect on the change in the CPI of November 2025 compared to the corresponding index of October 2025, while <em>Fresh Vegetables <\/em>had the largest negative effect (-0.79). The CPI is the official indicator for calculating inflation. <\/p>\n<p>Inflation shows the change in the CPI compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>The Impact represents the amount of the total change in the CPI, which is due to the mentioned category\/good\/service.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pricing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pricing is carried out only in the urban areas of the Districts of Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos. For each city, the price fluctuations per product and service for each month are weighted according to the population. Specifically, the weighting factors for the four districts are as follows: Nicosia 42%, Limassol 30%, Larnaca 18% and Paphos 10%.  <\/p>\n<p>The prices of the 805 products and services included in the CPI are monitored and recorded once a month, except for some seasonal products (e.g. vegetables and fruits), meat and fuel, whose prices are collected every week (every Thursday).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Base Year<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The base year from January 2006 to December 2015 was 2005=100. From January 2016 onwards, the reference year is 2015=100. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Classification <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Until December 2015, the CPI was calculated and published on the basis of the COICOP4 classification, which determines the category of products down to the four digits of analysis. From January 2016 onwards, the CPI is calculated and published based on the ECOICOP classification, following a relevant European Union regulation. Therefore, the lowest level of detail for the ECOICOP classification used in the CPI is the five digits of resolution.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Products\/Services and Weights<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Effective January 2018, both CPI products and their weightings have been revised.
