{"id":4941,"date":"2017-05-16T10:27:41","date_gmt":"2017-05-16T08:27:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oeb.org.cy\/?p=4941\/"},"modified":"2017-05-16T10:27:41","modified_gmt":"2017-05-16T08:27:41","slug":"oeb-participates-at-a-conference-organised-by-the-hellenic-federation-of-enterprises-digital-strategy-for-greece-path-to-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oeb.org.cy\/en\/oeb-participates-at-a-conference-organised-by-the-hellenic-federation-of-enterprises-digital-strategy-for-greece-path-to-growth\/","title":{"rendered":"OEB participates at a conference organised by the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises: &#8220;Digital Strategy for Greece \u2013 Path to Growth&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Director of Business Development and Economic Affairs Department of the Employers &amp; Industrialists Federation (OEB), Mr. Antonis Frangoudis, participated at a conference organized by the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) with title: &#8220;Digital Strategy for Greece \u2013 Path to Growth&#8221;, held in Athens on 12<sup>th<\/sup> May 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Accenture Greece in collaboration with SEV presented the results of a specialized study regarding the digital maturity of Greece and its classification in the international economic field. In this context, a set of policy proposals on what needs to be done, both directly and in the long run, has been suggested for the country to respond to the needs of the digital age and to succeed in moving to a competitive digital economy.<\/p>\n<p>Presenting the main findings of the study, Mr. Kyriakos Sambatakakis, Accenture&#8217;s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said: &#8220;Building on Accenture&#8217;s international experience in complex digital transformation projects, enhancing the digital maturity of a state or business leads to regulatory multiplier and social benefits. The challenge is certainly great, but at the same time it is the beginning of an exciting journey.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the context of the proceedings of the Conference and in the form of discussion panels, views were discussed on the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Greece&#8217;s ability to now make the digital leap needed.<\/li>\n<li>Implementation of a set of good digital policy practices will have a significant economic benefit as it will lead to an increase in national wealth by 4% of GDP and will create over 50,000 jobs by 2021.<\/li>\n<li>Digital transformation in Greek industry and business.<\/li>\n<li>Digital skills at work are the key to participating in the new reality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The main conclusion of the conference is that Greece needs a digital leap to go ahead. Within the next four years, realistic steps and a specific strategy are needed to create the conditions for this leap.
