{"id":46868,"date":"2025-08-07T10:57:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T08:57:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oeb.org.cy\/grant-scheme-for-energy-storage-systems-in-combination-with-renewable-energy-sources-res-projects\/"},"modified":"2025-08-07T10:57:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T08:57:11","slug":"grant-scheme-for-energy-storage-systems-in-combination-with-renewable-energy-sources-res-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oeb.org.cy\/en\/grant-scheme-for-energy-storage-systems-in-combination-with-renewable-energy-sources-res-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Grant Scheme for Energy Storage Systems in combination with Renewable Energy Sources (RES) projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following the approval by the Council of Ministers of the <strong>&#8220;Sponsorship Scheme for Energy Storage Systems in Combination with Renewable Energy Sources (RES)&#8221;,<\/strong> the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry published on 7 November 2025 the relevant <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bfu.meci.gov.cy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Scheme-for-Storage-RES-Hybrid-Systems.pdf\">Guide<\/a><\/strong>, so that interested parties can be informed about the details of the Plan, as well as the application process.<\/p>\n<p>The Plan, with <strong>a total budget of \u20ac35 million<\/strong>, aims to reduce electricity costs for citizens, while enhancing the country&#8217;s green energy transition. The Plan aims to support storage projects with a capacity of approximately <strong>150MW,<\/strong> and a total storage capacity of approximately <strong>350 MWh<\/strong>. The funding comes from the Just Transition Fund, under the Cohesion Policy Programme &#8220;THALIA 2021-2027&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p>Beneficiaries of the Scheme are natural and legal persons active in the field of electricity production from RES and have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Feed in Tariff (FiT) systems.<\/li>\n<li>Self-consumption systems with the net-billing method or self-production.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The online submission of applications will start on 14 February 2025 and will remain open <strong>until 28 March 2025<\/strong>.
